DeKalb County is in Northern Illinois. Located just one hour west of Chicago, the DeKalb area offers beautiful scenery, rich culture, historic landmarks, classic entertainment and convenient meeting establishments.

DeKalb County, located approximately 50 miles west of downtown Chicago and 25 miles from the rapidly growing suburbs of Aurora, St. Charles and Elgin, has some of the best farmland on earth. With most of its land still in farms, DeKalb County has the smallest population of the eight counties in the Chicago region.

Northern Illinois University, located in the City of DeKalb, is the largest
employer in the county and attracts many people and businesses to the area.

DeKalb County is also a prime target for future development. With 249,000 acres it also has ample room for residential, commercial and industrial development. The area is serviced by two interstate highways, a small airport and four railroad lines.
